There is a brand new feature at MyPicTales this month, and that’s Backgrounds!  This new feature is a free service offered by MyPicTales, and features thousands of beautiful, original Background images created by our designers. In the Backgrounds community you are able to view these images and then download them for use in our free Taleweaver software.

The Backgrounds community has many features, including pop-up preview images upon mouse-over! You can sort by most popular, featured, new, random as well as by themes or designer. So many options you are sure to find what you are looking for in the click of a mouse!

Pop-up images on mouse over mean you get a closer preview of the background image before you download it!

Method 1 – Importing image each time you wish to use it.

There are 2 ways to save and use the Backgrounds. The first way is to save the image to its own folder on your computer and use it like you would a photograph, importing it into the software from its folder each time you wish to use it.

Step 1. Open an internet browser window and go to www.mypictales.com/backgrounds. Click on the image you wish to download. Your screen should resemble the image below with the background of your choice displayed.

Step 2. Right click on the image and choose, “save image as”. A pop up box will appear where you can navigate where you want to save your images. I suggest making a new folder and placing all your backgrounds in one place.

Step 3. Open you’re my photo book software, choose your option for the project you wish to work on. Ensure you have the ‘book pictures’ tab selected, and click the symbol to add image.

Step 4. Again a pop-up box will appear where you can browse through your computer files for the Background image saved earlier. Click the background you wish to use and click ‘Open’ to import the image to the current project.

Step 5. Once the image is in your photo bar you can drag and drop it onto the project where you please.

Method 2 – importing backgrounds for immediate access in My Photo Book.

The second way you can use the Backgrounds is to save them directly to your “My Photo Book” background file. Doing this means that the backgrounds will be in your program each time you open the My Photo Book software.

Step 1. Open an internet browser window and go to www.mypictales.com/backgrounds. Click on the image you wish to download. Right click on the image and choose, “save image as”. A pop up box will appear, browse through your computer files to find “my photo book” folder.

Step 2. To save the image directly to the ‘my photo book’ folder, click Data>Backgrounds then save the file in your background folder.

Step 3. Open you’re my photo book software, choose your option for the project you wish to work on. Select the ‘page backgrounds’ tab and scroll through the backgrounds till you find the image you downloaded.

Note: If you’re my photo book software was already open, you will need to close and restart in order to select the new background.
